Eric Zapakin has been named head of production at Los Angeles- and Seattle-based creative agency We Are Royale, bringing more than a decade of production experience in branding and entertainment sports content and marketing.
“I’m very excited to have Eric join the team here,” said Rhys Demery, executive producer at We Are Royale, in a statement. “He brings a level of attention to detail and process-driven thinking that is hard to find. His extensive production knowledge and savviness will bring rigorous oversight and leadership to the production team that matches the creative passion of Royale.”
In his new role, he will work closely with We Are Royale Partner and Managing Director Jen Lucero, overseeing the company’s in-house production capabilities, including design, animation, live action and VFX. He’ll also work with Head of Digital Production Beck Henderer-Peña, who directs the agency’s next-level digital experience offerings, such as augmented and virtual reality development.
Zapakin joins Royale from Imaginary Forces, where he was a senior producer, developing marketing strategies for theatrical studios and producing over-the-top content, including Threads, an episodic series for Verizon’s go90 video streaming service.
A graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, Zapakin started his career in the entertainment industry at Los Angeles-based creative agency Big Picture Group.
He then moved on to branding and strategy agency Troika, climbing from associate to senior producer during his six years with the company. During this time, Zapakin contributed to a wide range of assignments, including rebrands, show/content packages and 360 marketing campaigns for brands, such as Time Warner Cable, STARZ, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, CBS Sports, and ESPN.
