“When you fall in love you realize how lonely you’ve really been. I felt like I was blind before I saw you; like I’ve never loved anyone before I knew you,” says Eric Bana, refining the pick-up lines he’ll use on his next victim as John Meehan in Bravo’s true crime anthology Dirty John.

Based on the breakout podcast by Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, the series features Meehan, a charismatic con man who sweeps single mother and interior designer Debra Newell (Connie Britton) off her feet in what becomes a story of romance, deception and manipulation.

In the chilling promo, a charming Bana breaks the fourth wall, staring into the camera and speaking directly to viewers—showcasing his character’s true creep factor. The spot ends with the line, “he could happen to you.”

Jean Smart also stars as Newell’s mother, along with Julia Garner and Juno Temple as Newell’s daughters and Kevin Zegers as her nephew.

Dirty John is produced by Universal Cable Productions. Britton serves as executive producer along with Jeffrey Reiner and Richard Suckle.

It’s set to premiere in November on Bravo.
