After revealing that season 9 of American Horror Story will pay homage to the ‘80s, series creator Ryan Murphy offered a peek at this season’s cast through an amusing, campy Instagram video on Thursday.
“To celebrate the first day of filming the 9th season of American Horror Story, here’s the official 1984 cast announcement along with some amazing 80s ‘lewks.’ Enjoy!”
As Dan Hartman‘s “I Can Dream About You” plays in the background, we see the characters dancing along in their ‘80s gear, comprising voluminous hair, short shorts, sweatbands and more.
It reveals that Billie Lourd, Cody Fern and Leslie Grossman are returning to the FX horror anthology for season nine, with newcomer Zach Villa, Glee’s Matthew Morrison, and Dear White People’s DeRon Horton joining the cast. Emma Roberts, Gus Kenworthy and Angelica Ross—also featured in the spot—were previously confirmed.
