For the main titles for ESPN’s 10-part documentary series The Last Dance, which chronicles the last year of the Chicago Bulls’ NBA dominance in 1997-98, Elastic used archival footage and news reports.
The season covers superstar Michael Jordan and his supporting cast, including Scottie Pippin, Dennis Rodman and Steve Kerr as well as coach Phil Jackson.
The documentary, which averaged 6.1 million viewers in its Sunday, April 19 debut on ESPN networks, includes footage that NBA Entertainment collected throughout that final season as well as interviews with more than 100 people close to the team.
All 10 episodes will air on ESPN and the ESPN app in the U.S. and can be streamed outside of the U.S. on Netflix. Netflix will make the documentary series available to U.S. subscribers in July, it said during its first-quarter 2020 earnings announcement.
