Los Angeles-based creative agency Mocean has named Elaine Cantwell its first executive creative director, design, the company said Tuesday.
Cantwell has worked in design and visual storytelling for more than 20 years, working with such world-class brands as AT&T, Hallmark Channel, NBCUniversal, Sony, Showtime and more. At Mocean, she will act as a strategic partner to provide the agency’s entertainment clients a new level of creative expertise. Previously, she ran her own firm, Cantwell & Co., and she also founded creative group Spark Creative Inc.
Prior to Spark, Cantwell spent seven years as head of creative services for Hollywood-based design firm 3 Ring Circus, after moving to Los Angeles from Ireland. There, she began her career in design as art director with Arks Advertising in Dublin working on accounts for Guinness, Levis, and Barry’s Tea. She hails from Cork, Ireland.
“Elaine is a creative visionary who has deep experience in defining brands visually,” said Greg Harrison, Mocean’s chief creative officer, agency, in a statement. “We’re psyched to have her on board, not just because of her talents and her great personality, but also because she brings another capability to Mocean that lets us bring a whole new level of creative chops and sophistication to our campaigns.”
Added Cantwell, also in a statement: “Mocean came on my radar initially because of their creative excellence and extensive legacy but upon getting to know them I quickly realized that this is a team of people who care about the work they do and each other, directly translating in to better solutions and a more satisfying creative experience for client and team alike. That connectivity and collaboration is what ultimately drew me to Mocean – a place where good people do great work.”
Mocean is a three-time Promax Agency of the Year.
