Editor Ally Gondeck has joined editorial and VFX shop Nomad.

Gondeck has worked on music videos for such talent as Ciara, Camila Cabello, Willow Smith, Yungblud and Big Sean. She has also worked on spots for such known brands as Sony, Lexus, BMW, New Balance, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Nomad also this year added editors Raj Ramnauth and Zoë Mountain.

“The art form of editing lies in finding ways to continue to embellish your own voice as well as the director’s,” said Gondeck in a statement. “For me, this happens after I get a first pass down and a piece is starting to shape as an edit rather than a scribbled-down assembly. That’s where I feel creative.”

Gondeck’s first project with Nomad is a video for the song “Feather” by Sabrina Carpenter. The track, on which she collaborated with director Mia Barnes of Radical Media and production company Freenjoy.

“Ally is a true powerhouse. With a proven track record in commercials and music videos, she seamlessly embodies our commitment to creativity,” said Julia Williams, executive producer, in a statement.

“Creative editing is both an innate talent and a cultivated craft. In our dynamic industry, editors like Ally reaffirm that the future holds great promise,” said Nomad Editor and Partner Jai Shukla.

Gondeck said her greatest source of inspiration comes from the people she works with.

“Surrounding yourself with like-minded and unique creatives is crucial,” she said. “It’s a driving force that forever challenges and fuels my passion for editing and Nomad is the perfect space for that.”
