After 20 years in St. Louis, the Rams are returning to Los Angeles with a new reality TV show in tow.
E! greenlit the docuseries Hollywood & Football, that will chronicle their inaugural season in a new city. The six, hour-long episodes will follow six Rams players and their families as they pick up their Midwestern roots and adjust to a new life.
The show is scheduled to premiere in the fall to coincide with the 2016 NFL season.
“We are excited to take viewers inside the exclusive lifestyles of these top athletes and their families as they navigate a new city, new friendships, new schools and the inevitable Hollywood gossip,” said Jeff Olde, executive vice president, programming and development at the network. “E! has a track record of success with pop culture programming centered in the world of sports, and this series will capture the off the field perspective of one of football’s most anticipated and high profile events as the Rams return to LA.”
E! also launched successful sports series Total Divas following WWE female wrestlers, and WAGS about Wives and Girlfriends of Sports.
Hollywood & Football is a T Group production with Jenny Daly, Rob Lobl and Shauna Thomas serving as executive producers.
HBO’s reality show Hard Knocks will also focus on the Ram’s relocation.
