CNBC reports today that, with more than 120 million viewers worldwide, PBS’ “Downton Abbey” has sparked a boom in retail products inspired by its world of Edwardian England. UK retailers have reported huge sales of everything from arm-length gloves to fur capes and even sherry. Now the producers of the show want to capitalize on the elegant frenzy, with licensed merchandise including a line of clothing, homeware, furniture and even wallpaper.
