After some back and forth in the media earlier in the week, The Dr. Oz Show on Wednesday released a clip (above) showing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump revealing the results of his latest physical to Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Dr. Oz: “If your health is as strong as it seems from your review of systems, why not share your medical records? Why not let people see?”
Donald Trump: “Well I really have no problem in doing it. I have it right here. Should I do it? I don’t care. Should I do it? It’s two letters. One is the report and the other is from Lenox Hill Hospital.”
Dr. Oz: “May I see them?”
Donald Trump: “Yeah, sure.”
Dr. Oz: “So these are the reports – This is from -“
Donald Trump: “Those were all the tests that were just done last week.”
Oz and Trump sat down on Wednesday for a one-hour, one-on-one interview about Trump’s personal health, as well as his views on health-care policy and the Trump campaign’s recently announced child care and maternity leave plans. Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, joined him for part of the show and he also took questions from the audience. The episode airs on Sony Pictures Television’s Dr. Oz on Thursday, Sept. 15.
After the conversation, Dr. Oz conducted his own examination with Trump, reviewing all of his systems including nervous, cardiovascular, hormonal, respiratory and so forth. In August, Trump’s personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, released a letter saying that Trump would be “unequivocally the healthiest person ever elected to the presidency.”
Throughout the campaign, and especially recently, Trump has been pressed to release his medical records, which is something presidential candidates typically do. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Wednesday also released the results of her own recent examination, after having been diagnosed with pneumonia last Friday. On Sunday, she abruptly left a 9/11 ceremony, later saying she had had trouble in New York’s heat and humidity as well as having pneumonia.
On Tuesday, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told MSNBC that Trump planned to share his medical records this week.
