Disney+ is working with seven select Japanese anime studios on a series of digital shorts titled Star Wars: Visions, which premiere Sept. 22 on the streaming service, the company revealed Monday at Anime Expo Lite, which was held virtually July 3-4.

The partnering studios are Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio (Twin Engine), Studio Colorido (Twin Engine), Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru and Production IG. Each studio is using its own signature animation style to tell their versions of stories set within the Star Wars universe.

As Disney’s first formal venture into anime, each “Star Wars: Visions short bears a unique Japanese sensibility, which in many ways aligns with the tone and spirit of Star Wars storytelling. From the beginning, Star Wars stories have been influenced by Japanese mythology and the films of Akira Kurosawa. These new stories will further explore that cultural heritage through the unique animation style and perspective of each anime studio.

Below are the seven studios and the shorts they produced:

Kamikaze Douga: The Duel

Geno Studio (Twin Engine): Lop and Ochō

Studio Colorido (Twin Engine): Tatooine Rhapsody

Trigger: The Twins, The Elder

Kinema Citrus: The Village Bride

Science Saru: Akakiri, T0-B1

Production IG: The Ninth Jedi
