As the owner of Lucasfilm should, Disney+ celebrated May 4—also known as Star Wars Day—with a bevy of new Star Wars content, including the release of animated series, The Bad Batch, and animated Simpsons collab, Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From Its Nap (see key art below).

Lucasfilm and Disney+ also commissioned original artwork to take over the streaming service for several days. A global group of artists and fans created illustrations representing an assortment of Star Wars movies and original series that will be featured on Disney+ until May 9. The art also is available for purchase through Amazon.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch serves as a sequel to The Clone Wars following the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch. Members of the unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers. In the post-Clone War era, the Bad Batch squad takes on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.

Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From Its Nap is the first of several collaborations between iconic animated brand The Simpsons and Disney+’s marquee brands and titles.

The new series, short, and artwork became available on Disney+ in the U.S. beginning May 4, 2021 at 12:00 am PT.
