Media is shifting to new modes of distribution and Disney-ABC Television Group is following suit, including beefing up its new Watch ABC live streaming by adding new positions requiring different kinds of digital skills. “We’ve undergone a review of our organizational structures and processes, and have re-imagined and realigned certain areas and functions to gain efficiencies and better position us for future growth,” the company said in a statement.

Disney has been implementing widespread staff reductions for some time, including in the movie studio, at ESPN and at ABC News, where 400 staffers were laid off a few years ago.
