In her new role, Bonck will be charged with spearheading the creation and execution of branded content and advertiser partnerships. She will report to Co-Presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, and be based in New York.
“Branded partnerships and integrated marketing have become important aspects of our business and we are thrilled to have a first-rate executive like Karen lead this integral area for us,” Marcus and Bernstein said in a statement announcing her appointment. “She brings strong relationships, an insightful understanding of the syndication business and an innovative approach to branded entertainment that is needed for advertisers to succeed in today’s media environment.”
She will focus on Debmar-Mercury’s first-run series, including “The Wendy Williams Show,” and the forthcoming “Celebrity Name Game.”
Before arriving at Debmar-Mercury, she held branded entertainment posts at NBC Universal and ABC Television Group.
