Zahn McClarnon is back as Lt. Joe Leaphorn in AMC’s Dark Winds, based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee novels.

In season two, Leaphorn is rejoined by his former deputy turned private eye, Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), when their separate cases come together as they pursue the same suspect. Leaphorn and Chee are helped by Sgt. Manuelito (Jessica Mattten) and Valencia County Sheriff Gordon Sena (A Martinez) as they all chase an assassin who is now chasing them.

The series also stars Joseph Runningfox as Henry Leaphorn, Lt. Leaphorn’s father, as well as Deanna Allison as Emma Leaphorn, Elva Guerra as Sally Growing Thunder, Jeri Ryan as Rosemary Vines and Nicholas Logan as Colton Wolf.

Dark Winds is created by Graham Roland (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Returned, Almost Human, Fringe). John Wirth (Hell on Wheels, Hap and Leonard) serves as showrunner. The series is executive produced by Roland, Wirth, McClarnon, Robert Redford, George R.R. Martin, Anne Hillerman, Chris Eyre, Vince Gerardis and Tina Elmo.

Dark Winds returns to AMC on Sunday, July 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with episodes premiering early on AMC Plus on Thursdays.
