Larry David channeled Julius Caesar for HBO’s teaser revealing the October 1 return of Curb Your Enthusiasm for a ninth season.

The promo shows him in Roman-style garb, taking a spin on a rotating platform.

“That was good, let’s go around again,” he says at the end. “That was fun.”

The Emmy-winning comedy, featuring the Seinfeld co-creator as an over-the-top fictionalized version of himself, ran from 2000 to 2011.

Asked why he decided to come back to the show, David responded, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’” His explanation, inspired by the Shakespearean quote “Veni vidi vici” (I came, I saw, I conquered), also serves as HBO’s tagline in the promo and key art.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” HBO programming president Casey Bloys told Variety.

The new season will feature returning cast members Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman and JB Smoove, along guest stars Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen and Lauren Graham.

David serves as creator and executive producer along with Garlin and Jeff Schaffer.
