Creative Mammals paired lively interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, star of TBS’ Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail, with 2D animation to create a fun social campaign for the show’s third-season premiere.
Radcliffe offers some bits of historical—and often humorous—trivia about people’s adventures on the Oregon trail, many of which ended up being fatal back in the 1800s. Creative Mammals’ job was to pair these interviews with animation that were both reflective of the time period but also funny and modern. If viewers look closely at the animation, they’ll find lots of hidden jokes.
Creative Mammals’ team used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to design the animation’s characters and other elements, and then brought it all together in After Effects to composite the five fully animated spots. TBS then released the spots across its social-media channels to promote season three of the comedy, which also stars Steve Buscemi.
Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m./9:30 p.m. CT on TBS. Episodes are also available for viewing on TBS.com.
