Cartoon Network and its late-night brand, Adult Swim, have created quite the fan experience that exists far away from the convention floor (as well as inside to a lesser degree).
Outside, fans find an outdoor adventure land of sorts, with spaceships, a carnival and a royal ball at Adult Swim on the Green.

Its space has moved and expanded from last year, now closer to the convention center and more accessible, sharing the backyard of the area with FX’s Fearless Arena. Adult Swim’s Meatwad Dome is back this year at Adult Swim On The Green, which also boasts a “crash-landed” spaceship courtesy of animated duo Rick and Morty.

The Meatwad Full Dome Experience, which can be seen blocks away, invites fans inside for a “journey through space and time” with Meatwad himself. The Dome is also home to live broadcasts of FishCenter and Toonami Pre-Flight Thursday-Saturday afternoons.

Carnival Midway is a new addition this year, with customized carnival games for fans to try out in order to win Adult Swim gear. Games named SkeeBalls, Flunko and Dreadageddon join a screen-printed T-shirt tent on the Green as well as a face-painting station, true to carnival form.

Adult Swim also has brought back nightly screenings of specials and pilots never before screened for fans. Thursday’s screening includes early looks at Mike Tyson Mysteries and The Venture Bros. Friday’s screening will air a preview of Rick and Morty’s second season with Dan Harmon himself appearing at the event.
Adult Swim’s got a big slate at the Con this year, including Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Forever, Children’s Hospital, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell and Rick and Morty.
Inside the convention center, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are both promoting new series through games at their booths, but Cartoon Network’s putting its new We Bare Bears front and center.

At the We Bare Bears booth, attendees chose one of the three bears, and then peeked inside a hidden part of the wall to see if they had won a prize.

The prizes over at Adult Swim were a bit more obvious. With a giant, brightly colored cat on the floor, Adult Swim’s booth was easy to spot across the convention center.

The new show joins two panels presenting Regular Show and Uncle Grandpa followed by Adventure Time and Steven Universe. We Bare Bears, which stars the three bears Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear, premieres July 27.
Also a fan of nighttime screenings, Cartoon Network is hosting the second-annual Adventure Time Royal Ball and the Clarence and Friends Pajama Party this year, both offering sneak peeks at upcoming shows and episodes on the network.
