CNBC’s six-episode limited series Empires of New York explores the life of five larger-than-life New Yorkers, all of whom made their names in the go-go ‘80s: financier Ivan Boesky, real estate magnate Leona Helmsley, mobster John Gotti, U.S. Attorney Rudy Giuliani and businessman-turned-President Donald J. Trump.

All of these people were interested in making themselves look as rich and powerful as possible while all of them also had something to hide.

Creative agency Zealot sets the above long-form trailer to Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel’s ’s ‘80s anthem “White Lines,” and fills it with archival images of its subjects when they were in their heydays. The series is narrated by Paul Giamatti.

Empires of New York premiered Sunday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET on CNBC.
