“Bisexuality is a myth. It was created by ad executives to sell flavored vodka,” according to a line in the trailer for upcoming comedy The Bisexual on the UK’s Channel 4 and Hulu.

The series looks at the difference of dating men and women from the perspective of a person who finds herself doing both. Channel 4 describes it as “an honest look at the last taboo, bisexuality and what it means to refuse to compromise on what you want.”

It’s co-written and directed by Desiree Akhavan (Girls, The Miseducation of Cameron Post) who stars as Leila, a New Yorker living in London who, while on a break from her longtime girlfriend, finds a roommate online and moves in with Gabe (Brian Gleeson), who helps her navigate her sexuality.

Bisexual is also written by Cecilia Frugiuele, executive produced by Naomi de Pear, produced by Katie Carpenter and is distributed by All3Media International.

It premieres October 10 on Channel 4 and will also premiere on Hulu.
