Courtesy of Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids creator Marc Cherry, CBS All Access takes a juicy look at what drives wives to murder in Cherry’s new series, Why Women Kill, starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. The cast also features Jack Davenport, Sam Jaeger, Reid Scott, Alexandra Daddario, Sadie Calvano, Leo Howard, Alicia Coppola and Katie Finneran.

Each woman plays a woman from a different era. Goodwin (Big Love, Once Upon A Time) stars as a wealthy housewife in the ‘60s who is married to a cad (Parenthood’s Jaeger).

Liu (Elementary) plays a socialite in the ‘80s who is married to man in the closet (Davenport).

And Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place, Killing Eve, Barry) is a modern woman of today who is in a very open marriage.

The series is produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. Cherry is executive producer alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo and Acme Productions’ Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis. Marc Webb also executive produces and directed the series premiere and one additional episode.

Why Women Kill premieres Thursday, Aug. 15, on CBS All Access.
