February marks Black History Month, and Cartoon Network is celebrating by honoring four kids drawn to making a difference today.
In its new digital series, Drawn to Happiness, Craig of the Creek’s Philip Solomon interviews influential kids about the importance and impact of Black History Month. That includes prominent and historical figures that have inspired them to make a difference in their communities through civic engagement, art and music.
Callwood kicks the series off in the above video, which Cartoon Network released on Friday. The 15-year-old cancer survivor founded her own nonprofit, We Cancerve Movement, Inc., at the age of seven to bring happiness to youth who are homeless, sick or in foster care.
Other kids include 12-year-old Elijah Precciely, an author, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, full-time college student and more; Jahkill Jackson, the 12-year-old founder of Project I Am; and Justin “L.J.” Wilson, a five-year-old musical prodigy and social media sensation.
The month-long campaign will go into rotation with weekly episodes on the Cartoon Network App and social.
