Bicoastal production company Bodega Studios has signed director Ashley Avis.

Avis wrote, directed and edited Disney+’s feature film, Black Beauty, which marks her fourth feature release.

Some of Avis’ upcoming projects include writing and show-running the television series Breyer Hollow for Imagine Entertainment’s Executive Producers Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Stephanie Sperber. She’s also directing and producing documentary Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West (2021).

As an editor for more than a decade, Avis cuts most of her own work and has produced hundreds of commercials and brand content assignments to date.

In the advertising world, Avis has directed for clients such as Chevrolet, Pfizer, Foot Locker, Asics, Red Bull, Coca Cola, Cali Burger and dozens of independent brands.

Recent spot work includes films for Mercedes-Benz and a fourteen-part “Goalkeepers” campaign for Chevrolet featuring Olympians Mia Hamm, Hilary Knight and Laurie Hernandez that encourage young girls to stay in sports.
