Bill Hader stars as a hitman who wants to quit his career, and make a killing on stage instead after realizing his love for acting in HBO’s dark comedy Barry.

Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, the story unfolds when he reluctantly travels from the Midwest to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry follows is mark into an acting class, finds an accepting group of eager hopefuls with the LA theater scene and tries to start a new life—but his criminal past won’t let him walk away.

“You’re a killer, Barry,” says his handler Funches (Stephen Root.) “Acting is a direct conflict, being someone who anonymously kills people.”

The eight-episode series also stars Sarah Goldberg, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan and Henry Winkler.

Barry premieres March 25 on HBO.
