Better Call Saul, AMC’s Breaking Bad prequel and now the highest-rated cable premiere in its demo, partnered with automaker Acura for a series of relevant spots and bumpers ahead of the series debut on Sunday.
The partnership, in part to advertise the 2015 Acura TLX, takes advantage of the New Mexico setting in a series of two spots, both along an Albuquerque highway. The latest version, above, finds an Acura driver in crisis who finds a pay phone (resembling the one in the Better Call Saul’s key art) and an ad in his trunk for Saul Goodman, attorney at law.
An earlier version of the sponsored spot appeared last fall along with AMC’s marketing campaign for the new show.
