Betsy Bergman has joined NBCUniversal TV Distribution as senior vice president of marketing and brand strategy. In her new role, Bergman will lead all marketing and brand strategy for the TV and New Media Distribution Group and the Domestic TV Distribution Group.

Her position will based out of New York. She’ll report to Frances Manfredi, president, TV and New Media Distribution and Valerie Schaer, executive vice president, creative affairs, Domestic TV Distribution.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the outstanding team at NBCUniversal, and I look forward to working under the exceptional leadership of Frances Manfredi and Valerie Schaer,” Bergman said.

Bergman is returning to NBCUniversal from Sony Pictures Television, where she served as vice president of marketing on shows such as The Dr. Oz Show, Shark Tank and Seinfeld. She was responsible for developing and executing sales and consumer marketing plans for Sony Pictures Television syndication, network and SVOD properties.

Before that, Bergman served as VP of marketing for NBCUniversal TV Distribution and as VP of advertising and affiliate relations for Universal TV. During her tenure at NBCUniversal, she worked on a multitude of shows, which included Access Hollywood, The Jerry Springer Show, Maury and Law & Order: SVU.

Schaer said she will play an important role at NBCUniversal.

“Betsy brings a tremendous amount of experience, creativity and vision to our group at a very exciting time with the launch of the new daytime entertainment show Harry,” Schaer said. “She is going to be an extraordinary asset to the team and we are so happy to welcome her back to our division.”

Bergman also served as executive director of affiliate relations and promotion for Universal Television and Studios USA, and held various roles in production and video consulting. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Political Science.

Manfredi said he’s also excited about her return.

“Betsy is a consummate industry professional with the leadership skills, creativity and experience to keep driving NBCUniversal’s distribution business forward,” Manfredi said.“Betsy has a proven track record of results and success and we’re excited to have her back at NBCUniversal.”
