BBC One released a first-look image for season four of Sherlock showing the genius detective with a new companion by his side.
The bloodhound appears slightly less focused than Benedict Cumberbatch’s Holmes while staring down a London street, while Martin Freeman’s Doctor Watson is nowhere in sight—though he will be returning to the show.
New cast members include Toby Jones, James Homes and Sacha Dhawan. Jones will play one of Sherlock’s arch villains in what could possibly be the series last season.
“I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show,” creator Steven Moffatt told The Telegraph. “But it absolutely could be.”
Sherlock began filming in April, with season four expected to air in early 2017.
The new, three-part series follows the January 2016 special The Abominable Bride, which received six Emmy nominations.
Sherlock is produced by Hartswood Films for BBC One.
