It’s a story the entire country remembers about an affair that nearly destroyed a presidency.

FX’s Impeachment: American Crime Story stars Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky in the long-awaited limited series, for which FX released the official trailer on Thursday. The series was supposed to have premiered last September, but was delayed due to both the pandemic and the Presidential election.

The trailer offers first glimpses of the cast, including an unrecognizable Sarah Paulson, who’s an executive producer, as Linda Tripp; Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones; and Cobie Smulders as right-wing pundit Anne Coulter. Edie Falco plays First Lady Hilary Clinton, who isn’t taking the news as well as she seemed to be when this story was actually happening, and Clive Owen is President Bill Clinton.

The series comes from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, who also oversaw the first two seasons of the American Crime Story anthology series: The People vs. OJ Simpson, starring Paulson, Sterling K. Brown, and Cuba Gooding Jr., and The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story starring Darren Criss and Edgar Ramirez. Besides Murphy, Falchuk and Paulson, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sarah Burgess, Scott Alexander, Larry Karaszewski and Michael Uppendahl also executive produce, while Lewinsky and Feldstein both produce. The series is based on the book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin.

Impeachment: American Crime Story premieres Tuesday, Sept. 7 on FX.
