Shot in ultra high definition with the latest filming technology and aerial drones, BBC debuted a breathtaking new trailer for its upcoming series Planet Earth II.
Like the original, which debuted a decade ago, this newest version will be narrated by naturalist Sir David Attenborough, who will “reveal our planet from a completely new perspective,” according to the BBC.
The six-part series will explore the characteristics of the Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.
Executive Producer Mike Gunton has described the series as “unique,” “immersive,” and “game-changing for how documentaries are produced.”
The original Planet Earth that premiered in 2006 has won four Emmy Awards, with more than 320 territories across the globe purchasing rights to the program.
Planet Earth II is a BBC Studios Natural History Unit production, co-produced with BBC America, ZDF, Tencent and France Télévisions.
It’s scheduled to premiere in November.
