“Same old, same old,” says Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who in this new trailer, “just the Doctor and Clara in the Tardis.”
Season two of BBC America’s Doctor Who starring Capaldi and Jenna Coleman is prepping to launch — like the TARDIS out of a tight spot — on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 9 pm PT. In preparation, the network offered fans new poster art (featured above) and a new trailer.
The show will return with a two-parter written by lead writer and show runner Steven Moffat titled “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar.” Michelle Gomez will return as the Doctor’s latest foil, Missy, and Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams will make her much-anticipated guest debut.
To get fans excited for the new season, BBC America will look back at the series’ modern era and air a curated collection of The Doctor’s Finest episodes starting August 15 at 8 pm ET.
For six straight weeks, some of the most essential Doctor Who episodes will be presented with new material, hosted by YouTube star Hannah Hart and produced by Nerdist.
