This summer, BBC America is challenging viewers to “find their wild” through a slate of wildlife, space and blockbuster programming.
BBC America’s “Wild Summer” kicks off on Saturday, June 29, with Wild Life Week—a week of natural history programming featuring Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II, and the premiere of the Idris Elba-narrated Enchanted Kingdom.

July presents marathons of Star Trek, Doctor Who and feature films like The Right Stuff and Space Cowboys. It all leads up to the U.S. premiere of Wonders of the Moon, airing Friday, July 19 and Moon Landing Live, airing Saturday, July 20—both of which will help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
Wild Summer also enlists the return of Top Gear, the stunt-filled motor show led by Chris Harris and new hosts Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness. This season will kick off with the trio reliving their first car experiences in Ethiopia.
To tie everything together, BBC will air the wild, memorable adventures from blockbuster movies like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Addams Family and Addams Family Values.
In the above spot, the network assembled footage from all three elements to spark excitement for the summer-themed programming block. It all kicks off Saturday, June 29 on BBC America.
