The Stephen King property everyone is talking about at the moment may be It: Chapter 2, which is en route to a possible $100-plus million opening weekend. But King’s got another property coming right around the corner: season three of AT&T Audience Network’s Mr. Mercedes, which is similarly packed with scares and stars.
In season three, retired detective Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson), Holly Gibney (Succession’s Justine Lupe) and Jerome Robinson (Jharrel Jerome) are working with local police to discover who murdered iconic American author (and King stand-in) John Rothstein (Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’s Bruce Dern). They soon learn that the author wasn’t just murdered, several of his unpublished novels worth millions also were stolen.
The guest cast is stacked with trending actors, including Brett Gelman, just coming off of turns in Amazon’s Fleabag and Netflix’s Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black’s Kate Mulgrew and Two and a Half Men’s and The Practice’s Holland Taylor. They are joined by Gabriel Ebert, Rarmian Newton and Brenda Wool.
Mr. Mercedes is executive produced by King, David E. Kelly (Big Little Lies, Goliath), Jack Bender, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey.
