“In those really important moments when you have everything on the line, it’s all or nothing,” says downhill skiing great Lindsey Vonn in the opening seconds of Apple TV Plus’ trailer for season two of sport docu-series, Greatness Code.

The series examines what drives the world’s greatest athletes to their high levels of success, featuring English soccer star Marcus Rashford, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, skateboarder and 3-time X Games medalist Leticia Bufoni, paralympic track and field competitor Scout Bassett and NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace all talking about their own pivotal career moments.

The series, like the trailer, is told through a stylized hybrid of live action and visual effects.

“Greatness is the ability to overcome, no matter what,” Vonn concludes.

Greatness Code is produced for Apple TV Plus by Religion of Sports and Uninterrupted. Each episode is directed by Gotham Chopra, who executive produces with Religion of Sports’ Ameeth Sankaran and Giselle Parets, and Uninterrupted’s Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, Devin Johnson and Philip Byron. Matt Rissmiller co-executive produces.

Greatness Code premieres its second season Friday, May 13 on Apple TV Plus.
