Back for its third year, the TEN Exhibition at The Conference will showcase some of the best photography in the industry, while also making it available for conference attendees to bid on.
TEN is co-curated by bpg’s Steph Sebbag and Karla Braun, and features work from 10 photographers. All of it will be up for auction to benefit Promo Pathway, a one-year training and education program designed to fast track a pipeline of creative talent from under-represented communities into the on-air promotions industry. Promo Pathway is a partnership program between PromaxBDA and Santa Monica College, supported by the Office of Workforce and Economic Development at Santa Monica College, the PromaxBDA Diversity Council and this very auction. Some of the pieces are valued at more than $6,000 each, and a few have been signed specifically for the auction. Last year, the silent auction raised more than $32,000.
“We are excited for the next chapter of ‘TEN,’” said Sebbag, president and chief creative officer of bpg. “In our third year, we are showcasing to our television community 10 more of the world’s best photographers, who have all graciously donated rare editions of their work for a genuinely great cause. And a few lucky PromaxBDA members get to go home with some amazing works of art.”
The PromaxBDA Promo Pathway Auction is comprised of images donated by well-known photographers in the industry. This year, featured photographers include:
David Drebin
Nigel Parry
Rankin
Nino Muñoz
Brian Bowen Smith
Pamela Littky
F. Scott Schaffer
Ben Watts
Liz Von Hoene
Cyrus Mahboubian
Attendees can visit the TEN Exhibition on the 3rd Floor Promenade outside the Grand Ballroom anytime before the “State of Our Art” session on Thursday to bid on the photos. Winners will be contacted Thursday evening. Visit promaxbda.org for more information about The Conference 2014.
