Game developer Bungie confirmed the reboot of its classic shooter, Marathon, with the above trailer from Antibody duo Patrick Clair and Raoul Marks, who are best known for their main titles.

This trailer has an entirely different look from most of Clair’s work, which includes opening title sequences for HBO’s True Detective and Westworld (done while Clair was at Elastic) and most recently, Apple TV Plus’ Silo.

“This is the first completely new project from Bungie in more than a decade,” the developer posted on its website. “Marathon is a sci-fi PvP [player vs player] extraction shooter where players will embody cybernetic mercenaries known as Runners. Exploring a lost colony on the mysterious planet of Tau Ceti IV, Runners – working solo or as part of three-person crews – will fight for survival, for riches, and for fame.

“To coincide with the announcement, we also released our premiere CGI trailer, debuting the first look at the world of Marathon, the Runners fighting for survival, and the game’s bold visual style.”

The drop date for Bungie’s new version of Marathon is unknown, but videogame press speculates the wait could be as long as 2025.
