AMC has unveiled a 30-second promo for the second half of season-seven of The Walking Dead, which returns Sunday, Feb. 12.
The trailer, entitled “Rise Up,” followed the winter finale of the AMC series. The first half of season-seven showed the group splintered, weak and saddened while living under oppressive conditions. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) was able to brutally convince the survivors to live under his command, promising deadly ends if the group does not follow his orders.
“We already started this and we’re gonna win, whatever it takes,” Rick says. As seen in the midseason finale, Ezekiel’s sidekick Richard is ready to hit back. “Together, we can beat them and set things right,” he says in the promo, while the trailer shows the cast pulling guns on each other and Daryl beating someone up. “The time is now.”
The series stars Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol), Lennie James (Morgan), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Josh McDermitt (Eugene) and Christian Serratos (Rosita).
Executive producer is Scott M. Gimple, along with series creator Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert, and Greg Nicotero.
The Walking Dead returns Sunday, Feb. 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
