In the ongoing quest to event-ize television, AMC has unveiled plans for a trifecta of attractions designed to drive live tune-in around the November 1 episode of The Walking Dead.

Not only will the special episode be an extra-long 90 minutes next week, and not only will that running time include the debut of the trailer for the highly-anticipated show Preacher, but it will also include the debut of the trailer for another such show Into the Badlands.

In addition to drawing viewers who are itching to get an early glimpse of these upcoming series, airing their trailers during The Walking Dead also places the new shows in front of the audience of TV’s top show. Even with baseball playoffs and the NFL competing in recent weeks, The Walking Dead has been pulling in massive numbers. With the lure of an 30 extra minutes of zombie apocalypse action likely pulling in even more viewers than usual, the marketing synchronicity between all three shows included in this tent-pole event is potent.

Based on the twisted and popular ‘90s comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God. The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and is scheduled to premiere mid-2016.

Into the Badlands tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior named Sunny (Daniel Wu) and a young boy named M.K. (Aramis Knight) who embark on a spiritual journey across a dangerous land. From AMC Studios, the six-part series is created by executive producers/showrunners/writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Shanghai Noon, Smallville), and executive produced by Oscar-nominated producers Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg (Pulp Fiction, Contagion), director David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, Shanghai Nights), fight director Stephen Fung (Tai Chi Zero) and Daniel Wu (Tai Chi Zero).

Into the Badlands premieres on Sunday, November 15 at 10:00 pm ET/PT on AMC.
