Gael García Bernal stars as a charismatic, over-the-top, genius conductor for the New York symphony in Amazon’s new Mozart in the Jungle, a series that brings the modern world of classical music to the streaming service.

Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell also star as his opposition at his new post, pitting old school against new.

Mozart in the Jungle is based on the memoir by Blair Tindall called Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs & Classical Music. All 10 episodes of the show, executive produced by Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Weitz, will be released on Amazon Dec. 23.
