Jose Leon, formerly of NBCUniversal International Networks, has been named managing director, Latin America, at Allied Global Marketing, the company said. Leon reports to Chief Global Strategist Adam Cunningham and is based in Miami.

“We’re delighted to welcome Jose to the team as we strengthen our position in this key market. His deep relationships and extensive knowledge of the region will be vital to this strategic expansion of Allied’s global footprint,” said Cunningham in a statement. “The LatAm region is a growing market and having Jose to lead our local efforts will put us in the best position to pursue new opportunities as well as better support our existing clients.”

Based in Miami, Leon will lead the company’s strategy for the Latin America market, including servicing existing clients while managing new business initiatives.

“Joining the Allied executive team is one of the most exciting projects of my professional career, as it provides me with the opportunity to continue growing our business operations in LatAm, strengthen our existing client’s relationships, and explore new forms of innovation to help deepen the connection with our client’s consumers,” said Leon, also in a statement.

Prior to joining Allied Global Marketing, Leon served as director of digital product strategy and video on demand/TV Everywhere (TVE) at NBCUniversal Networks. While there, he led the digital transformation initiative for the non-linear distribution business as well as programmatic digital advertising sales. Before that, he held positions at E! Entertainment where he launched TVE Services for all brands within the NBCU portfolio across LatAm for web, iOS and Android. He also worked at Discovery Communications.

Allied Global Marketing is expanding around the world, opening offices in Sydney, Australia and Dublin, Ireland earlier in 2021.
