“You don’t need to be bulletproof to be a superhero. Black women have always had superpowers; turning pain into progress. Harlem doesn’t need a hero, it needs a Queen,” says Alfre Woodward’s Mariah Dillard in the final trailer for season two of Marvel’s Luke Cage on Netflix.

As the new season dawns, Dillard is faced with an imminent threat to her hold over Harlem: Luke Cage’s nemesis Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir). Cage (Mike Colter) doesn’t get along much better with Dillard, but as they say: the enemy of your enemy is your friend.

Season two of Marvel’s Luke Cage is executive produced by series showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker, Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of television. Lucy Liu directed the first episode. The show also stars Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Gabrielle Dennis and Rosario Dawson. The show is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Marvel’s Luke Cage premieres globally on Netflix on June 22.
