Fledgling network Al Jazeera America today unveiled a schedule of primetime programming dominated by live news and investigative, documentary and discussion shows. The lineup reflects the channel’s mission to provide American viewers with unbiased, in-depth coverage of domestic and international news, and the most up-to-date information available no matter when they tune in.
The list of programs includes more than 14 hours of daily live news, magazine and discussion programs including “Nightly News” with anchor John Seigenthaler, Al Jazeera America‘s flagship show “America Tonight” with host Joie Chen, and “The Stream,” which uses social media to incorporate viewer suggestions about the day’s coverage. News updates will pop up at the top of every hour, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.
