“I want a job like anybody else.”
A&E Network aims to solve just that in The Employables, the new docuseries that follows struggling job seekers with neuro-diverse conditions like autism and Tourette syndrome. As they search for meaningful employment, they’ll receive help from specialists who will help identify their strengths and skills before setting them on a path to success.
Along the journey, we’ll see the highs and lows that their friends and family experience as they support each job seeker in their goals. A&E will also use social media to provide information about organizations, programs and resources for neuro-diverse individuals and their families.
“Like our Emmy-winning series Born This Way, The Employables is an important example of how embracing our differences can bring about positive and necessary change both in the workplace and in the lives of so many people,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and head of programming, A&E Network.
The Employables is produced by Optomen Content, an all3media company, for A&E Network. Executive producers for Optomen Content are Joseph Eardly, Ricky Kelehar, Maria Silver and Edward Hambleton (Co-EP). Elaine Frontain Bryant, Shelly Tatro and Brad Holcman serve as executive producers for A&E Network.
The eight-episode series premieres May 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on A&E.
