In its new docuseries, Secrets of Playboy, A&E examines the hidden truths of the Playboy empire as seen through a modern lens. Peering through the glamorous veil developed by the brand over several decades, the series features archival footage and exclusive interviews with insiders from all facets of Playboy’s world to reveal Playboy in a different light.
Much of the series focuses on the mythology of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, so often seen in his smoking jacket with pipe in mouth, slyly mentioning that “sometimes things happen in the bedroom.”
Interviews include former Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia; past girlfriends of Hefner’s including Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Sondra Theodore; Hefner’s personal valet Stefan Tetenbaum; Bunny Mother PJ Masten; Playboy Mansion West resident Jennifer Saginor; and members of Hefner’s staff and inner circle.
The marketing highlights the series’ unique insider access, exclusive footage and first-hand accounts that lead to explosive revelations about the danger that lies behind the Playboy empire.
The ten-episode docuseries from the executive producers of Scientology: Leah Remini and the Aftermath debuted on A&E on January 24.
