A&E Network, in a deal with Entertainment One, is starting off the Halloween season with The Enfield Haunting, a miniseries based on Guy Lyon Playfair’s book This House is Haunted.

The story is based on real-life events, described by the network as “a dramatization of the terrifying real-life events that took place in a seemingly ordinary home in northern London during the fall of 1977.” The trailer, above, shows the eerie house that was documented so thoroughly because of its unexplained events.

The Enfield Haunting stars Timothy Spall, Juliet Stevenson and Matthew Macfadyen, was directed by The Killing’s Kristoffer Nyholm and was written by Joshua St. Johnston.

The miniseries debuts Friday, Oct. 9 on A&E.
