Like “Breaking Bad” and “Walking Dead” before them, shows like A&E’s “Bates Motel” want more than ever to join in on the after show fun.
“Bates Motel,” kicking off its second season March 3, will air a live after show at 11:00 p.m. that night (following the premiere, then the debut of new drama “Those Who Kill”).
“Bates Motel: After Hours” will also involve a live audience, sharing plans for the upcoming season and answering questions about the series so far. The live special includes appearances by stars Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore as well as executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin.

Brief Take: The live special is meant to add to the fan conversation surrounding the season premiere, but it will also give A&E a nice opportunity to increase ad revenue around the night.
