Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty will embark on their biggest adventure yet in a new collaboration with Pringles: Pickle Rick-flavored chips.
The collaboration is based on the meme-worthy moment from season three, which sees Rick transform into a pickle to avoid family therapy. Now, that moment will translate into a “humorous, mind-bending animated spot,” created by Adult Swim and Grey Group, during the second quarter of the Super Bowl.
It’ll be supported by a fully integrated marketing campaign including PR, digital, social media, e-commerce and product sampling.
“We’re very thoughtful about who we partner with around Rick and Morty and we couldn’t be more pleased with our new relationship with Pringles,” Jill King, senior VP, marketing and partnerships, Adult Swim, said in a statement.
Pickle Rick-flavored chips will be available nationwide beginning in early February; however, the partnership extends all year long, giving fans “amazing new opportunities to illustrate their love for this iconic show,” King added.
The collaboration comes just one month after Adult Swim launched its second-annual festival in downtown Los Angeles. The two-day event combined music, comedy and interactive experiences for fans to indulge in all-things Adult Swim, such as the Rickflector, giant Morty slide and permanent character tattoos.
