Adele has made her mark on album sales, music videos, and now broadcast television.

Some 11.3 million viewers tuned into NBC’s concert special, Adele Live in New York City, on Monday night, making it the highest ratings for a concert on TV since 2005 (The Eagles Farewell Tour).

Following part one of The Voice finale, Adele’s special aired at 10 p.m., a time slot often thought to be dormant in 2015—but not for songstress Adele. Her concert Monday night was taped in November at Radio City Music Hall, just after her music video for “Hello” made waves in pop culture, her album sales went through the roof and her TV appearances on SNL and The Tonight Show only heightened her current pop culture profile.

NBC has had some good luck in the musical arena lately, with its live musical The Wiz Live! earning more than 11.5 million viewers on Dec. 3.

Brief Take: Special events around the holidays are often a risk, with busy schedules and more than ever to watch on TV. But not for NBC, who has now aired two specials in the span of two weeks to huge ratings, both with The Wiz Live! and Adele.
