SAN FRANCISCO—Activision was named game marketing team of the year Thursday night at the 2018 PromaxGAMES Awards, while gNet agency won agency of the year. The ceremony at The Midway in San Francisco was hosted by actor and comedian Godfrey.

Activision won for work on games such as Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2, two games to which gNet contributed agency work. gNet also created campaigns for Blizzard’s Hearthstone and World of Warcraft and Supercell’s Clash Royale, among others.

The awards recognize outstanding achievement by the marketing and creative teams building audiences and creating awareness for the biggest game publishers in the world. They are presented by PromaxGAMES, part of the PromaxBDA global professional association for the entertainment marketing industry, which represents thousands of individuals working at the world’s leading media companies and creative agencies.

“Tonight’s winners represent teams creating some of the most exciting campaigns in today’s entertainment marketing industry,” said Steve Kazanjian, PromaxBDA President and CEO. “The PromaxGAMES Awards set the standard for excellence in our profession, and we are proud to celebrate the talented individuals and teams who are driven by passion, creativity and intellect to create such phenomenal work.”

Among the other big winners were Ubisoft, Blizzard Entertainment and Square Enix.
