ABC is loading up its summer season with limited series and lots of game and alternative programs to heat up its primetime.

Shonda Rhimes — creator of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder — gets another show on the schedule with limited series Still Star-Crossed, starring Grant Bowler, Wade Briggs and Lashana Lynch in a story that picks up where Romeo & Juliet left off. Still Star-Crossed, based the book by Melinda Taub premieres its seven-episdode run on Monday, May 29 at 10 p.m.

Other limited series coming this summer are Somewhere Between on Monday, July 24, and two-part documentary The Story of Diana on August 9 and 10.

Somewhere Between is a thriller drama starring Warcraft’s Paula Patton as Laura Price, a news producer in San Francisco who knows that her eight-year-old daughter is going to be murdered and is doing everything in her power to stop it. The 10-episode series also stars Teen Wolf’s JR Bourne as Price’s husband, Tom; Devon Sara as cop turned private investigator Nico Jackson, and Aria Birch as Laura’s daughter Serena.

The Story of Diana is a retelling of the story of Princess Diana of Wales on the 20th anniversary of her death in a car crash at the age of 36. The movie includes comprehensive interviews with the people who knew her best as well with the world’s leading experts on the princess.

Another special event is a three-hour remake of Dirty Dancing, starring Abigail Bresling, Deborah Messing, Bruce Greenwood and Nicole Schlesinger, airing Wednesday, May 24.

The network returns its game power block to Sunday nights on Sunday, June 11, with Steve Harvey taking over two hours of primetime with season three of Celebrity Family Feud at 8 p.m., and a new show, Steve Harvey’s Funderdome at 9 p.m. Michael Strahan returns as host of season two of $100,000 Pyramid at 10 p.m.

Other games coming this summer are To Tell the Truth, hosted by Anthony Anderson, a revamp of The Gong Show, executive produced by Will Arnett, and a much-anticipated 10-episode reboot of Battle of the Network Stars on June 29.

ABC also will rely on alternative series, including several Bachelor-based programs. Competition series, Boy Band, which looks to find the next great boy band, will debut in a special two-hour premiere on Thursday, June 22, followed by the premiere of The Gong Show.
