At its upfront presentation Tuesday ABC revealed nine new series for the 2016-2017 season. Five of them set to premiere in the fall, causing some major shuffles in the primetime lineup.

Most notably, new series Notorious will slide into the Thursday at 9 p.m. slot, pushing Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal to midseason due to star Kerry Washington’s pregnancy. The move breaks up the successful all-Shondaland programming block on Thursday nights—at least temporarily.

New Hayley Atwell series Conviction will replace cancelled Castle at 10 p.m. on Monday nights after Dancing With the Stars. Other new shows set for the fall season include Speechless at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Designated Survivor at 10 p.m. on Wednesdays—taking over cancelled Nashville’s slot—and American Housewife at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

The other shows ABC picked up—including Downward Dog, Imaginary Mary, Still Star-Cross and Time After Time— will premiere later in the season.

Shuffles also include moving The Middle from Wednesday to Tuesday at 8 p.m., while Fresh Off the Boat slides to 9 p.m. on that night. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D will be pushed to 10 p.m. to make room for hour block of comedies. And on Wednesdays, The Goldbergs will shift to a half hour earlier, at 8 p.m.

“Our new shows reflect the inclusive and empowering storytelling that defines the ABC brand,” new ABC Entertainment Chief Channing Dungey said in a statement. “We will continue to raise the bar for our audience, investing in great storytellers and reflecting the authentic faces and voices of the world around us.”

What’s not changing is Jimmy Kimmel. The late-night host signed a three-year deal to remain on the network.

Dungey also shed some light on why ABC canceled dramas Castle and Nashville, telling reporters that although they were wonderful series with good performers, “the future for us didn’t lie in those shows.”

“Looking at ratings, our own finances and looking at new development, decisions came down to the wire, which is the difficult thing about these jobs as we weigh and measure different things,” Dungey told The Hollywood Reporter.
