ABC’s schedule for the 2014-15 season includes murder mysteries, family comedies, medical dramas and Muppets.
To promote that varied and diverse lineup for fall TV, the network has created one show out of two very different ones in a new series called “ABC Mash-Up Minute.”
Fresh Off The Boat meets How To Get Away with Murder in How To Get Off the Boat. Grey’s Anatomy meets Black-ish in Grey-ish. Once Upon a Time meets General Hospital in Once Upon a Hospital. Modern Family meets Castle in Modern Castle.
The list goes on, but each mashup creates a brand new show out of the ones ABC is promoting for fall premiere week, kicking off Sept. 21. And some of these new series show promise.
In How To Get Off the Boat, for example, the Fresh Off the Boat kids get very confused in their elementary school classroom with Annalise Keating as a teacher.
Grey-ish puts a very dramatic and romantic twist on the family comedy, perhaps scarring a child for life.
The Goldbergs Scandal brings Olivia Pope back to the ‘80s in a very heated moment.
Giving the sitcom a terrifying twist, The Middle Whispers puts a face to a name for the kids’ imaginary friends.
With fairytale and soap opera worlds colliding, Once Upon a Time comes together surprisingly seamlessly with General Hospital.
And finally, Modern Castle, creates an unlikely romance between Nathan Fillion and Ty Burrell.
